Red Ribbon Week 

Mountain Youth School celebrated "Red Ribbon Week" during October 22-26, 2012 in conjunction with Cherokee County Schools and the Coalition for a Safe and Drug-Free Cherokee County. Red Ribbon Week is a nationally recognized youth advocacy event in which students across the country declare themselves drug-free. Students throughout Cherokee County look 
forward to RRW as one of the most anticipated events of the year. This year's theme was "The Best Me is Drug-Free." Mountain Youth School encourages students to have fun expressing themselves in this, so there is a series of school spirit week-type of themes for each day. To foster excitement, especially at the high school level, we awarded one $10 Walmart gift card to the student who had the best outfit each day. and at the end of the week, all

Put a STOP to Drugs – Wear something RED! (*No bandannas)


10/23 Tuesday: Decade Day

Thing of the Past – Wear decade clothing (20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s) 

10/24 Wednesday: Wacky Day

Drugs are Whack – Wear your clothes backward, inside-out, mismatched, or crazy!


10/25 Thursday: T-shirt Day

Be the Change – Wear the T-shirt provided and add crazy accessories.


10/26 Friday: Team Day

Top of My Game – Wear your favorite college or professional sports team’s apparel, or MYS school colors.
